Donna Cravens Braymer was born in Long Beach, California and moved to Tyler, Texas when she was 3 months old. Her parents were owners of their own business in downtown Tyler just blocks away from the Carnegie Library. Many summer days were spent at the library and a love for books was always encouraged.
Donna married Howard Braymer and they have three grown, married sons, and one granddaughter. She has taught piano lessons for more than 30 years and enjoys teaching all ages. Raising three sons has given her ample opportunities for stories that fit her mischievous raccoon, Rowdy. Her love for children and the desire to pass on important character-building traits make the popular series a success for generations to enjoy together.
Donna Braymer continues to be very active in the community of Harrison, Arkansas. She served as an elected school board member for 15 years, and a regional and state director for the Arkansas School Boards Association. She was awarded the Master Board Member Award and the Pinnacle Award in 2004 by state association.
She has won area, and state awards for her children’s series, dealing with her first raccoon, Rascal. She also works as the Business Editor for the Harrison Daily Times newspaper.
