Dean Koontz, the author of many #1 New York Times bestsellers, apart from novels, has written many stories about his dog, Trixie Koontz. He worked as a counselor and tutor to underprivileged children and as an English teacher before becoming a professional writer. When he was a senior in college, Dean Koontz won an Atlantic Monthly fiction competition and has been writing ever since. His books are published in 38 languages and he has sold over 450 million copies to date. Fourteen of his novels have risen to number one on the New York Times hardcover bestseller list, making him one of only a dozen writers ever to have achieved that milestone.
