Inspector Peckit

Story Description

Peckit, a detective, who is also a Parisian pigeon, searches the city for a little girl’s lost purse only to discover it in a rather embarrassing place. Fly with Peckit to the rooftops of Paris, through the Luxembourg Gardens, to a sidewalk café and more as he searches for the lost purse. The story has a beautiful ending and is sure to put a smile on your child’s face.

Don Freeman was born in San Diego, California, in 1908. He was introduced to the world of Children’s Literature when William Saroyan asked him to illustrate several books. Soon after, he began to write and illustrate his own books, a career he settled into comfortably and happily. Don died in 1978, after a long and successful career. He created many beloved characters in his lifetime, perhaps the most beloved among them a stuffed, overall-wearing bear, named Corduroy.
