Carol McTavish has been a Canmore resident for over thirty-eight years. She has raised her family, taught Elementary and Junior High School, authored a bi-weekly newspaper column, written articles for magazines and spent countless hours hiking the paths, skiing the meadows and writing poems and stories that reflect her beloved mountain environment. Carol is the coauthor of In the Path of Great Bear, Magic in the Mountains and Where Wolves are Wild, three children’s books that show children the “magic” of living in the mountains. She also spends much of her time writing, doing book readings and workshops to children throughout B.C. and Alberta. As well as doing many book talks to school children in both Alta. and B.C., Carol is a proud member of the North Shore Bear Society in Vancouver, B.C.
