Ammi-Joan Paquette

Author Bio

Ammi-Joan (A.J.) Paquette is a mother, friend, reader, traveler, food-lover, chocolate connoisseur.  She has been writing stories since early childhood. She spent her early years moving from place to place, first in France then throughout Europe, followed by Japan and then finally settling down in the Boston Area where she lives with her husband and two daughters.

Travelling in her early years made her curious about the wide world and everything around. A voracious reader since early childhood, she’s thrilled to now be able to share her stories with readers everywhere. She writes books for children and young adults. Other than writing books, she is also an associate agent with Erin Murphy Literary Agency and represents all forms of children’s and young adult projects.

Ammi-Joan’s road to publication was long and on her journey she was honored with 2005 PEN New England Susan P. Bloom Discovery Award, 2008 SCBWI’s Susan Landers Glass Scholarship Award. Her mother and her daughters are her greatest inspiration for writing. Her debut book as children’s author – Tiptoe Guide to Tracking Fairies was inspired by a real- life event, when she was out on a nature walk to a nearby preserve with her daughters.
